About me...
It really is very simple to convey this, because once I dismissed the need for an abundance of irrelevant details and minutia, what is left? Sure, touching on the fact that I am NYC born (and Bronx bred) shows I have lead a *moderately* eventful life thus far. Stints as soldier, law enforcement officer, graduating from Iona College, and basically getting married to my wife, Mary, and raising two girls took a great deal of devotion from my state of existence- but what else?
I guess, as a kid, I was an avid reader. What I chose to read basically set me up for where I am now, because I liked comic books and reading newspapers like most other kids my age.
However, my cerebrum would light up with delight when I read Time, Life, Look, National Geographic, even the Readers Digest. But the magazines which captivated me the most were the photo-laden Time, Life, and Nat Geo publications.
While overseas as a soldier in then West Germany, I picked up an Olympus OM-2n and a very few prime lenses and conducted my first photographic "wandertags" or daytrips. Developing and processing was possible because (as a Military Intelligence Battalion) we had "Imagery Interpreters" during this Cold War era- and they had dark rooms we could use- just buy your own film and paper.
Fast-Forward to today (some 10+ cameras later) I now enjoy Street, Fine Art, and Photo Journalistic style photography.
When I think about it, I've come full circle in the last 40 years- a camera body and a few prime lenses.
Now I'm the guy walking around NYC (Soho, Alphabet City, etc.) happily shooting away, taking the images you see here.
Enjoy!
